The gaming industry continues to surprise with new big deals. Epic Games decided to join the ranks of its studios with the help of the publishing house Tonic Games Group, under whose wing the authors of last summer's hit Fall Guys work. So far, there is no talk of exclusivity and transition to a free distribution model.
According to representatives of Epic Games and Mediatonic, the sudden hit Fall Guys will remain in the digital services Steam and PlayStation Store - versions for these platforms will continue to receive regular updates. Studios also still plan to release the game on Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles.
At the same time, Fall Guys itself are waiting for new features, which the developers have spied in Fortnite and Rocket League. Mediatonic plans to introduce an accounting system, crossplay, and other mechanics. Of course, the studio will also continue to produce new cosmetic and gameplay content.
Recall that the release of the company Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout took place in August 2020 on PC and PlayStation 4. The game became the industry's biggest hit for several months thanks to its popularity on Twitch.
